今回は「上にゆく旅」をコンセプトに持つ、ザ・アッパー・ハウスのご紹介です。リリカルな空間と静かな雰囲気を持つことで有名なザ・アッパー・ハウスは、通常の五つ星ホテルとはちょっと違った空気感を持つ香港のラグジュリーホテルです。ホテル自体がストーリーのようで、いるだけで何かを語りかけられているような気分になれるザ・アッパー・ハウスでは心休まるステイができます。多くのセレブリティにとっての隠れ家的ホテルでもあります。
「Upward Journey ~ 上にゆく旅」というポエティックなコンセプトからも窺えるように、
ザ・アッパー・ハウスは香港の大通りから上に昇り得た場所に存在する別世界のような一角をイメージさせてくれます。

LOCATION

The Upper House location is ideal for exploring all Hong Kong has to offer. It is located just above Admiralty MTR station, connected to the luxurious shopping palace, Pacific Place.

ザ・アッパー・ハウスは香港島のアドミラルティ駅の真上に存在し、高級ショッピングモールのパシフィック・プレイスと直結していて、とても便利な立地にあります。

AIRPORT PICK UP

Everything is a little different at The Upper House and that’s what I love about this hotel. When it comes to pick up, drop off or simply driving guests around Hong Kong, The Upper House utilize their full BMW fleet (or Mercedes at a times) which includes an electric i3 (environmental initiatives). The comfortable stay becomes even more memorable.

THE ARRIVAL

Upon arrival at the hotel lobby, you are welcomed with a friendly staff with an ipad in one hand. Check-in is paperless with no forms to fill in. The hotel knows that we love to keep things simple! Check-in could be done anywhere in the hotel, whether in your room or at the garden.

チェックインは環境に影響を及ぼす紙は使われなく、ｉＰａｄを持ったスタッフがお部屋又はホテル内の好きな場所にきてくれて、フレキシブルに行われます。

‘The Torii Tunnel’ is a name given for this long escalator where the journey unveils as one elevates higher.

HOTEL DESIGN

The Upper House redefines the concept of modern luxury “a haven of calm and quiet taste”, created by Andre Fu. The name The Upper House is derived from the design philosophy of an ‘upward journey’. This poetic concept translates the journey through Pacific Place (luxurious shopping mall) above the bustling city leading its way to a serene house of intriguing spaces, natural colors, and subtle yet inspiring place of light and joy.

アンドレ・フー氏により設計されたザ・アッパー・ハウスのデザインは、「静寂なパラダイス」という‘モダン・ラグジュアリー‘がコンセプトであり、「上へゆく旅」と同様に、‘慌ただしい香港の街を上に抜け、明るく清らかな色合いを持ち合わせる場所`というイメージを尊重しています。

ARTWORKS

At The Upper House, you will discover smooth and minimal art works from leading contemporary Asian artists. All artworks complement Andre Fu’s concept of serenity.  Many of the art collections are sculptures and installations, inspired by the vision of a calm and quiet journey. Artworks are also found in every studio and suite.

1,230-sqft (114sqm) Upper Suite is impressive with a perfect view (this stay, it was the harbor view) with comfortable bespoke furniture.

Relaxing on the living room’s L-shaped sofa or the window seat is quite something. Arty books on stand by.

BATHROOM

Deep limestone-clad free-standing bathtub amidst the luxurious spa-inspired bathroom.

MAXI BAR

In room refreshments are all complimentary (except wine and champagne) ! The stylish fridge is stocked with complimentary soft drinks, beers, juice and water as well as coffee, tea and a selection of infusions. Complementary nuts, sweets, cookies and dried snacks kept me nibbling away.

THE SKY LOUNGE

So much to gaze at, here within the picturesque interior, so called “The Living Room”. Its high ceiling and the seductive green view makes you not want to leave this place. Scene for parties and special occasions at The Upper House is also set here at the lounge.

静かで落ち着くラウンジからもゴージャスな景色を展望でき、アートフルな本の数々にも出会えます。ホテルのシグネチャー・セント（オリジナルの香り）キャンドルが常に燃えているので、ラウンジ内はいい香りに包まれています。

CAFÉ GRAY

Café Gray on the top floor of the hotel is a 21st century ‘grand café’ with stunning views of Victoria Harbor. The restaurant offer unique style of European classics dishes inspired from kitchens of Asia and America, using organic seasonal ingredients.

Breakfast is a-la-carte style - We ordered one East and another West set menu.

ビクトリアハーバーが展望できるこちらのカフェ・グレイはホテルの最上階にあり、オーガニックな季節の品を使った西洋と東洋の料理を楽しめるカフェレストランです。朝食もビュッフェではなく、アラカルテ・スタイルです。

CAFÉ GRAY BAR

Café Gray Bar, located in the same space as the cafe is a handsome bar with an exceptionally good-looking view.

Its 14-metre stone bar, private nook and leather banquettes cannot get any cozier.

カフェレストランと同じ空間にあるこちらのカフェ・グレイ・バーには、プライベートで心地の良いソファ席と香港の美しい景色が見渡せるビューが用意されています。

THE TAKEAWAY CAFE | POP-UP SPACE

A space that appears just after the upward escalator journey.Coffee and Tea is available for purchase. An area to sit and chill for the moment.

THE LAWN

The intimate secret garden  - Complimentary group yoga classes for in-House guests happens on the lawn.  Yoga mats are provided in all guests rooms for independent practice too.

「ザ・ローン」では朝のヨガセッション等様々なアクティビティが行われます。こじんまりとした‘秘密のお庭‘といったイメージ（因みに、各客室にヨガマットが置いてあるので、お部屋でもヨガをすることが可能です）。

DEPARTURE

At the time of departure, you can simply send an email, if you so wish! How sweet. The House Car will drop you off at wherever your next destination is.

チェックアウトもいちいちレセプションに行く必要はなく、あとからメールを送るだけでＯＫ！

The exceptional Guest Experience Team offers personalised round the clock service. The team is there to provide 24 hours personal service, whether it be booking a table at the best restaurants, giving shop /eat advice or arranging last minute dry cleaning. At the Upper House, reception and concierge is rolled into one. IPTV is also loaded with in house entertainment, services and information about the hotel and its surroundings.
