SPIRITUAL AND PHYSICAL HEALING THROUGH BATHING

HOSHINOYA Karuizawa`s baths started life as Hoshino Hot Spring, which was dug over a century ago by Kunitsugu Hoshino and served as a healing spot for bathers. There are two bathing options at HOSHINOYA Karuizawa - The traditional option which involves mineral-rich waters that are constantly pumped into the baths, and the contemporary option which emphasizes total body relaxation.

星のや軽井沢では、豊かな泉質と湯量に秀でた星野温泉の歴史を引き継ぐ、源泉掛け流しの2 つの温泉が存在。

Hoshino OnsenTombo-no-yu (Traditional Bath)‍

At Hoshino Onsen Tombo-no-yu, one can enjoy Karuizawa's seasonal colors - cherry blossoms, fall leaves, and snowscapes amidst the brisk mountain air. Indoor baths are lined with cedar frames and the natural landscape is visible through the wide windows.Decorated with rocks, the naturalistic setting of the outdoor baths allows you to enter a totally relaxed state. If you want to bask in the soft morning light and listen to the chirping of songbirds, the baths are available exclusively to HOSHINOYA guests in the mornings.

『星野温泉 トンボの湯』 

星のや軽井沢から徒歩で約2~3分ほどの場所に位置する星野温泉 トンボの湯。野趣あふれる露天の岩風呂の四季ごとに魅せる色や光景は美しく、自然を肌で感じられる温泉。開放感のある大きな窓からも、軽井沢の季節のうつろいを感じることができます。

Meditation Bath (Contemporary Bath)

‍‍Serenity in light and darknessUnlike Hoshino Onsen Tombo-no-yu, the soft illuminated Meditation Bath is exclusive to the resort's guests. The bath temperature is preserved at 39-40℃, which is ideal for long soaks. There is a space completely devoid of light within the bath, where it helps one’s senses sharpen and enter a state of deep meditation or relaxation - gradually achieving spiritual calmness.

光と闇を通して静かな世界へと導いてくれる、星のや軽井沢宿泊者専用のメディテーションバス。
心を鎮める瞑想のためのバスは約 39 度～40 度とぬるめの泉温が特徴で、
光と闇の空間を行き来するうち、いつしか無心になる、瞑想の感覚を体感できる温泉。

Cha-ya (Tea House)

There is a cozy tea house along the way to Hoshino Onsen Tonbo-no-yu amidst the lush green forest. A perfect hide away where you can drink Ramune - a traditional Japanese soda on the way back from a dip in the bath.

トンボの湯に浸かった後は、帰り道にある「茶屋」で。ラムネを片手にそよ風を感じながら夕暮れのひとときを満喫。

Aromatherapy oil treatment Experience 

The spa room was set up with two treatment beds with a balcony overlooking the calm river flow. During the foot bath session, I was asked to select a scent from the aroma oil type (Sun, Forest, Moon and Flower) which was going to be used for the treatment. I chose the Flower type, which was comprised of floral notes including rose, as it was just in line with my mood at the time. As soon as the treatment commenced, I felt myself drifting into nature and towards the serenity of Karuizawa`s beautiful nature accompanied by birdsong along the river. The Spa treatment have created the perfect sensorial wellness experience for one to be transported to another dimension within the comfort and tranquility of the resort.

星のや軽井沢のオイルトリートメント

ウォーターフロントのお部屋で行われるトリートメントは、好きな香りのアロマオイルを選ぶところから始まる。香りの種類は、「太陽」「月」「森」「花」と、軽井沢ならではのネーミング。この４つの香りから自分にあったものをチョイスします。どれもとても癒される香りなので、迷ってしまいますが、選んだ香りはその時の自分の身体の状態に一番必要なものなの。
施術が始まると、直ぐに外の自然と一体になる感覚を覚え、軽井沢の自然を身近に感じるることができ、鳥や川などの音が心地よいメロディーのように流れ始めます。とても深いリラクゼーションを体験することができる「オイルトリートメント」は癒しのステイには欠かせないメニューなのです。

Shiatsu and Hari Experience
 

This was another treatment that soothed my body using the traditional methods of Hari (acupuncture) and Shiatsu. During the treatment, pressure to the multitude of Shiatsu pressure points produced pleasurable sensations of intense stimulation. I quickly drifted away into nature once again. This treatment can help to relieve stiffness, promote blood circulation in the immediate area and accelerate recovery from fatigue. I highly recommend.

寝る前には指圧と 鍼灸のトリートメントがおすすめ。。
静まりかえったリゾートの部屋で行われるこちらのトリートメントは体のコリや痛みを取り除くだけででなく、血液の循環を促進し、新陳代謝を活発にししてくれるもの。鍼灸師による本格的な施術は、身体の芯まで響いていく感覚が気持ち良いだけでなく、健康促進や病気の予防、疲労回復などの効果等も期待できる。夜眠りにつく前にこちらのトリートメントを受けることで、星のやでのステイをよりリラクシングなものにすることができます。
