HOSHINOYA Okinawa, surrounded by endless ocean scenery is a heavenly paradise where absolute freedom is possible. GUSUKU WALL

The moment you arrive, a tall wall appears before you. The minimalist modern looking structure that recalls the fortification of ancient castles is known as ‘gusuku’. Scene of herb and vegetable gardens lined by tropical plants greets you as you move forward past the gusuku walls and it is only the sound of waves that are heard from this point on..

そびえる城壁の向こうに 

海岸線に沿ってゆるやかに連なる高い壁は、沖縄に遺る琉球時代のグスク（城）の城壁をモチーフに。壁の向こうへ進むと畑が姿を見せ、草花や木の実が迎えてくれる。
護られるような城壁に囲まれた集落には心地よい波音だけが響き渡る。

Winding line of guest villas appear between the trees as you walk through the garden paths. The two-floor guest buildings stands along the coast - as you slide open the room door, you find yourself gazing straight at the sea that spreads beyond the glass of the balcony.. just in time for a rush of ocean breeze to flow past you.

畑を通り抜けると木々の間から客室が姿をちらつかせる…海辺に沿って立ち並ぶ客室。部屋の入り口の大きなガラス引き戸を開けると、海寄りの窓から一陣の海風が部屋を通り抜ける。

‘Fushi’ is the Deluxe oceanfront suite, spacious and perfect for extended stays. The living room, indoor patio, and bedroom are all separate rooms in this expansive suite, perfect for families.

掘りごたつ式のゆったりとしたソファを設えたリビング、中央には海からの風が抜ける「土間ダイニング」、琉球紅型のベッドボードが美しいベッドルームが独立したお部屋。

Sicilian Cuisine Inspired by Okinawa - dinner served at the main restaurant. Due to Okinawa and Sicily’s similar geography, both places share various common ingredients in their cuisine.

沖縄で親しまれている食材をシチリア料理の技法で昇華し新たな食の魅力を発見する。青い海に囲まれたイタリア南部のシチリア料理のエッセンスを取り入れたことで引き出される、沖縄の食材の魅力を味わえるコースディナー。

GATHERING DINING

A more relaxed dining experience is possible at Hoshinoya Okinawa, where guests can choose from a variety of dishes to have in the room at any time. Dinner arrives — ready to bake, steam, or cook in the patio's oven at any time, at a leisurely pace while gazing at the private ocean view.

ギャザリングサービス 

シェフが下ごしらえをした料理がお部屋へ届けられる。客室の土間ダイニングに備えられた調理器具を使い、好きな時間に温めたりと出来立ての料理が味わえる「ギャザリングサービス」は、海を眺めながらプライベートにゆったり味わえるディナータイム。

IN-ROOM BREAKFAST

Japanese and Western dishes are available for in-room breakfast.

インルームダイニングでの朝食は、和朝食と洋朝食。海からの風を感じながらのんびり味わえる。

LANDSCAPE DESIGN

An oceanside bastion of natural wonders 

While HOSHINOYA Okinawa occupies a narrow strip of land along the coastline, the guest villas stand right by the coast, and are surrounded by a tall wall modelled after gusuku fortification. The design conveys the idea that the resort is a self-contained space of pure relaxation where guests will find everything they need. Groves, orchards, farms, and gardens inside are all protected from the elements beyond the wall. Footpaths wind through this setting, connecting the pool and other facilities that open up to stunning ocean views.

環境設計〜もしも海岸沿いにグスクがあったならば 

海岸に沿って細長い立地となっている「星のや沖縄」の敷地。
「もしも海岸沿いにグスク（琉球時代の城）があったならば」というイメージから始まったランドスケープ構成は、海沿いには客室棟の壁（建物）、
陸地側にはコンクリート壁を用い、それらをグスクの城壁に見立てたもの。

グスクの城壁内は「外部から守られた安全で快適な場所」を表現していて、
内部に入れば、そこは風などから守られた環境に、林、果樹園、畑、庭園などが広がる、リラックスして滞在することができるスペースに設計されている。


The guest buildings are built low and positioned in a pattern winding along the coastline, allowing man-made structures to blend in with the surrounding environment and an ocean view from each room. The scenery constantly changes, from  Palm trees to Bougainvillea and Hibiscus flowers.

又「海を眺めて暮らす」というコンセプトから、低層に抑えられた客室棟では海を近くに感じる。外観はビーチや緑と一体となったかのような、まるで周辺環境に溶け込んでいるようなデザイン…ヤシ、ブーゲンビリア、ハイビスカスなどの景色にブレンドした植物が育つ。

Banyan trees planted along the Resort -  Banyan tree is considered a heavenly tree because it is said to be the place where the gods and spirits live.

古くから“幸福をもたらす精霊が宿る”と言い伝えられ、島の人々に大切に守られてきたがじゅまるの木々たち。

HOSHINO RESORTS BANTA CAFÉ

Banta Cafe located few meters away from the resort and on a cliff along a cove is the perfect place for morning strolls, lunches and beach times.

Charms attached to every room key represents something meaningful. This one a symbol of young Lotus leaf - a charm that is said to bring happiness and protect the owner even into their next life.

客室ごとに異なるルームキーのキーホルダーは全部で7種類。私が滞在したお部屋の鍵には、蓮の若葉のキーホルダー。”来世いまでも守られ、幸せでありますように”という願いが込められた沖縄の古くから受け継がれてきた房指輪のモチーフ。
